               The BIG BULL FALLS BLUES FESTIVAL is coming up in Wausau
August 19, 20 & 21st and we at the Great Northern Blues Society would
appreciate you featuring the festival on your web sites and sharing event
information with your members.

           Wausau Area Events ADDED a day to this year’s festivities!
Thursday August 19th features a Battle of the Bands on the festival grounds
in Fern Island Park with the winner getting a spot on the 2011 festival
bill.  Three bands will compete for the honor followed by a performance by
Wausau’s own MEANTOOTH GRIN after the contest.

           Friday August 20th Robert Allen, Jr. kicks things off at 5 PM
with Johnny & the Mo-Tones following.  BIG JAMES & THE CHICAGO PLAYBOYS headline starting at 9 PM.

           Saturday August 21st features the Jimmy’s at 1 PM, JOHN PRIMER
at 3, HARPER at 5, RUTHIE FOSTER about 7 and TOMMY CASTRO crowning the night at 9 PM.

           If you visit the Great Northern site at www.gnbs.org you’ll see
quite a few upcoming events listed right on the main/home page.  Currently
these include the Waukesha Blues Festival, the Paramount Blues Festival and Tuesday Night Blues concerts.

           Earlier this year the Madison Blues Picnic, Prairie Dog Fest and
Hot Rods ‘N’ Blues were featured on that same page.  In addition under “GNBS related and other events” you’ll find info on Bayfest, the Byron Crossroads and the Marquette Blues Festivals with links to their main sites.  All of the above are or were included in all of the “Who’s On First” electronic
mailings sent to GNBS members and Blues Fans.

Bob Corritore to do a June 14 harmonica seminar at the Old Town School Of Folk Music in Chicago!

Each Monday night, harmonica master Joe Filisko (of Filisko & Noden fame) teaches a class for some of the most dedicated blues harmonica students in Chicago. His classes have become a Chicago subculture, and his students are well known for their knowledge and proficiency. Bob Corritore will be a guest of this wonderful gathering on Monday, June 14th. The event takes place at the Old Town School Of Folk Music at 4544 North Lincoln Avenue, Chicago, IL 60625-2103, (773) 728-6000. Joe will kick off the class at 6:30 with Bob appearing around 8pm. There is no cover charge, and visitors are welcome, but non-class members are asked to make reservations by emailing michelle@filisko.com.
