Blues Fans, You’re Invited!
Let’s get together! Join us and make Instant Friends with folks who share your love for live Blues. The Windy City Blues Society is having a “Blues Meet-Up” Friday, September 25, 2009 at 9:00pm to see Nick Moss & the Flip Tops, and we want YOU to come! You don’t have to be a WCBS Member to participate. Just come on by and bring your friends too! Here’s what you need to know…
• WCBS Blues Meet-Up
• September 25, 2009 at 9:00 p.m.
• Buddy Guy’s Legends
• 754 South Wabash, Chicago
• http://www.buddyguys.com/
Cover for this show is normally $15.00 (but this, and most Legends shows, are now $5 off when you show your WCBS Member Card!) The show starts around 9 p.m. with Kent Burnside opening up, and a number of us should be arriving well before then. Look for anyone wearing the Windy City Blues Society shirts and pins (we’ll especially be hanging out near the back bar area). Hope to see you there as we expect another great turnout! Last month’s meet-up was very well attended so get there early!
And stay tuned to see where we’ll be next month- we’re eyeing the Southside clubs!

Comment from our WCBS President regarding the August Meet-Up at Rosa’s for Lurrie Bell…
“Another fantastic Instant Friends party. We signed up new members at Rosa’s, sold t-shirts, and gained new advertising interest for the newsletter. We also cultivated a number of contacts that will turn into future memberships.
The show was great and the staff said the house was pretty packed compared to previous weekends. Here in Chicago our objective as a Society is not necessarily to bring blues to town, but to support those club owners & venues that have blues.
The newest member of the Blues Foundation Board of Directors, Stefan Levy, came out to Rosa’s to check out the Windy City Blues Society.
BlackJack, Amy, Dave D., Brad and everybody that came out, keep up the good work! These Instant Friend / Meet-ups are one of the best things we are doing and fall directly in line with our stated purpose to support the blues community.”
