The Chicago Blues Challenge is a timed, judged, and scored battle of the bands sanctioned by the Windy City Blues Society (WCBS) and backed by The Blues Foundation.
Acts are scored on 5 weighted criteria
1) Vocal talent (X 2)
2) Instrumental Talent (X 2)
3) Stage Presence (X 2)
4) Originality (X 3)
5) Blues Content (X 4)
Judges score the acts on a scale of 1 - 10 for each category.
1-3 Typical of a beginning blues band.
4-5 Typical of a local weekend band.
6-7 Typical of an advanced local band but not yet ready to headline a major blues club.
8-9 Typical of the quality of blues artists who headline major clubs.
10 Typical of those who play the main stage at major festivals such as Chicago or King Biscuit Blues Festivals.

The Bolingbrook Arts Council is composed of working artists, business owners, educators, and community members who are passionate about the Bolingbrook Arts Community. Under the leadership of Commission Chair, Mithra Zaucha and Vice Chair, Hilary Rosenthal, the arts council plans, develops, and executes events that raise the profile of local talented artists, encourages the public engagement in the arts, and celebrates the rich cultural diversity of the community in an effort to inspire a new generation of artists.
The 9,000 square foot Bolingbrook Performing Arts Center located behind Town Center at 375 W. Briarcliff in Bolingbrook, has been an anticipated and beloved summer treasure for the community for years. Sitting opposite of an expansive lawn, The Bolingbrook Performing Arts Center offers an informal and comfortable place to picnic while enjoying some of the area’s top performances. Each show is broadcast through a state-of-the-art sound system and presented with dramatic features including conventional and robotic lights, full color L.E.D, fog machine, laser effects and three giant 9x12 permanent projector screens. The lights, fog, lasers and the LED's have been restructured to “pop and wow” concert attendees while complimenting the various genres of entertainers scheduled to perform.

A Patch of Blues is a product of the Fernando Jones Blues Camp in Chicago. Fati Jones (vocals), Rebecca Eguenwu (lead guitar), Claudia Easterwood (bass), & Stacy Norris (drums) all developed a love for the blues. Each member, an accomplished musician and vocalist in her own right, decided to come together . Their sound is unique it blends blues, soul & has an urban funky flair. Chicago – Darren Jay joined the U.S. Navy in 1996 . At age 28, Darren left active duty to pursue his musical ambitions. By 2006 he reestablished himself in the Florida panhandle and was representing the Sunshine State in the 2008 IBC's. The following year Darren was based in Memphis. In 2012 he self-released a new album titled “DRINK MY WINE”.
Currently Darren is playing musically with Grammy Nominees, theatrically with Tony Nominees and on the small screen in your living room.
Matt's style of blues is steeped from the South rather than from Chicago so he is able to fit with a variety of acts and venues and he is equally at home in a solo setting or with his trio. The "Sean McKee Band" is Sean McKee, born 1996 in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, is a singer songwriter/guitarist with a passion for the blues, vintage guitars and classic cars. The band itself is a core supporting factor to the performance, the writing and the power of the group. With Danny Lozano on drums, Chris Pecoraro on bass and Drew D'Astice on guitar.
