Lyons Fest is a 5 day family fun extravaganza with plenty of live music, food vendors and carnival rides. Lyons Fest is a celebration of American Independence and Village pride. This is a family fun event topped off with a great fireworks show Tuesday July 4th.
Red, White & BLUES is a whole day dedicated to Americas' Roots music, "The Blues baby". The Windy City Blues Society is proud to be working with The Village of Lyons, The Parks & Recreation Department and Mayor Christopher Getty to present the Saturday showcase.

Sonia is the 7th child of a Dominican American family. Her parents moved to the United States in 1955. As a child she found her love of music singing with her siblings in church. Initially her first love was Jazz music. Listening to Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald brought her much joy but when she heard her first blues song she fell in love with the genre and was never the same again.
She joined the Nu Blu band in 2005 and is an honorary member of the group. She also has The Sonia Downs Band and is currently working on an album. After 35 years in the corporate world "My retirement plan is to sing the Blues to whomever will listen". The blues is her life's work. Sonia plans to sing the Blues EVERDAY!
Darren & The Band won the 2018 Chicago Blues Challenge and represented the Windy City Blues Society in the 2019 International Blues Challenge
Darren is the past President of the Memphis Blues Society and makes regular appearances on some of your favorite television shows.

Jeff Dale & The South Woodlawners
During Prohibition era Chicago, Cicero was where you'd find the Chicago mobsters hangin' out - it was out of the reach of the Chicago cops. Jeff's Uncle Jimmy was one of those gangsters. He wrote his younger brother (Jeff's dad) from prison urging him to stay away from the gangster life. That's the inspiration behind this song...
